Mulching blades should maintain a sharp edge — ideally 30 to 45 degrees — to cleanly cut and re-cut vegetation into fine particles. Plain blades are standard steel manufactured to OEM specifications. Hard-Faced blades have welding material applied to wear surfaces, typically doubling part life over plain blades.
